Gaydio Board of Directors

Help Shape the Future of the World’s Biggest LGBT Radio Station

Gaydio is recruiting non-executive members of the board in both Manchester & Brighton

We are the world’s biggest LGBT radio station, on FM in Manchester and Brighton (from October 2018); on DAB in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Cambridge, Portsmouth and Glasgow; and online at gaydio.co.uk or the Gaydio app. We run Gaydio through two distinct companies, with two independent Boards of Directors one in Manchester and one in Brighton.

As non-profit companies, we operate the radio services alongside the Gaydio Academy, a programme of community development and training activities for LGB&T people. We are funded by a mix of commercial activity and grants.

We are currently seeking new members of the team to help us shape and deliver our strategy and provide support to the Executive team in the day-to-day running of these two companies. We hold monthly Board meetings and members also contribute expertise on their specialist areas between meetings. Opportunities are available in both Manchester and Brighton - although if you're not in either city, we have remote-in options for the right people.

We are particularly interested in applications from people with experience in the following disciplines, although we welcome applications outside of these areas for anyone with relevant experience and skills:

  • Marketing and PR
  • Media Sales
  • Human Resources

The positions that we are recruiting for have significant responsibility and to apply for these roles, you should have some relevant experience, although an induction will be given.

Our directorships are voluntary positions and we meet once per month in both Manchester and Brighton and directors often support the executive team for 1 to 2 hours per month outside of those meetings.

Initially we're requesting short expressions of interest, following this, we will be in touch to talk through the next stage. If you have any questions before applying, please email ian@gaydio.co.uk.
