Glasgow

To celebrate the launch of Gaydio on DAB across Glasgow, we sent Chris Blackmore to check out everything LGBTQ+ people can get up to in the city, all a stone's throw from the Hilton Glasgow.

A Glaswegian icon for 30 years, Hilton Glasgow is ideally located to provide you with the perfect base to explore the city. The contemporary design of Hilton Glasgow’s new bedrooms and public areas are inspired by the famous Glasgow Style - the highly distinctive form of Art Nouveau developed by Architect, Designer and Artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his circle in the 1890s. Recently refurbished to the highest standard, this hotel has a stylish restaurant, bar ‘Whisky Mist’ and boasts the first Dilmah Tea lounge in the UK. Relax, train and recharge in Hilton Glasgow's stylish Health & Fitness Club with a 15m swimming pool, sauna, steam room, a state-of-the-art gym with the newest equipment and treatments by PURE Spa & Beauty. Click here to book your stay at Hilton Glasgow.

Hilton Glasgow Reimagined - refurbished to the highest standard, blending style inspired by Glasgow and functionality! A Glaswegian icon for 30 years, Hilton Glasgow is Scotland’s leading conference & events hotel and one of the best in the UK has been transformed. With 320 newly refurbished bedrooms, a stylish restaurant & bar, the first Dilmah Tea lounge in the UK and a state of the art gym, indoor pool and spa treatments by PURE Spa, Hilton Glasgow is the perfect place for business and leisure a like.
The brand new, elegant, dazzling and functional Grand Ballroom, equipped with the latest technology, is set to attract some of the most famed events, conferences and meetings in the country.

While out and about in the city, Chris checked out the local nightlife and spoke to Katie, who moved to Glasgow from America 5 years ago, about what you can get up to when the sun sets and what it's like to be an LGBTQ+ person living in Glasgow

Chris also spoke to Ross who works at Katie's Bar to find out more about LGBTQ+ nightlife in Glasgow

And of course, we couldn't visit a city without finding out about one of the biggest days of the year for LGBTQ+ people, Chris caught up with Euan from Glasgow's Pride to see what we can expect from Mardi Gla this year

While catching up with Euan, Chris also asked him about what life was like for an LGBTQ+ person in Scotland
