Edinburgh
To celebrate the launch of Gaydio on DAB in loads of new cities across the UK, we sent Chris Blackmore from Gaydio Afternoons to check out Edinburgh and all the things LGBTQ+ people can get up to in the city, all close to the Hilton Waldorf Astoria - The Caledonian
An icon on Princes Street since 1903, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh - the Caledonian combines modern luxury and Victorian style in a former rail station. Savor views of Edinburgh Castle, steps from the Princes Street Gardens. The hotel is home to a luxurious Waldorf Astoria Spa, and an indoor pool with a sauna and steam room. The Royal Mile and Edinburgh Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are within a mile. Click here to book your stay at Hilton Waldorf Astoria - The Caledonian.
Of course, you can't visit Edinburgh without taking a trip to the castle, just a stone's throw away from the hotel to take in the view across Glasgow and get those all important golden-hour pics for Insta
Nightlife is a huge part of life for our community so we couldn't send Chris to Edinburgh without finding out what's on offer in the city. He chatted to John from Gaydio Pride Awards 2023 with Hilton shortlisted Planet Bar to find out what you can get up to when the sun goes down
While chatting to John, we also bumped in to Tom Hetherington from GBBO in 2019, he's now the captain of an LGBTQ+ inclusive rugby team
And with Pride being one of the biggest days of the year for our community, Chris chatted to Jamie from Pride Edinburgh to find out what you can expect from Pride in the city this year
Jamie also spoke to Chris about what life is like for LGBTQ+ people in Edinburgh
